Finishing Well

But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:24

And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for you many survivors. Genesis 45:7

1. Thank God for He is good, and His love endures forever (Psalm 107:1). Thank God for He is our Creator, Redeemer, Protector, and Sustainer, who has brought us this far in the year. Thank God for His protection, His providence, His comfort, and His healing in our lives. Thank God for the gift of fellowship that unites us as His people (Psalm 133:1). Thank God for His Word that continues to come to us with clarity through His servants, guiding us in truth and righteousness. Thank God for His grace that enables us to serve as His ministers (1 Corinthians 15:10), and for the light of Christ that shines through us as we run the race to please Him. Thank God who is able to keep us from stumbling and present us blameless with great joy — to Him be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, now and forever (Jude 24–25).

2. “An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.” 2 Timothy 2:5

Pray for clarity for every member of ICA that they may understand their unique course and calling and pray that each may run faithfully without distraction or comparison. Pray that the Lord will help us fall in love with our assignments and pursue them with excellence until the end.

3. Romans 1:16 – “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…”

Pray for boldness that as we pursue our professions and visions, the task of sharing the Gospel will remain our priority. Pray that the Lord will grant us courage, creativity, and opportunities to be witnesses of Christ in our homes, workplaces, and communities.

4. Acts 20:24 – “…if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the Gospel of the grace of God.”

Pray for a consuming desire that we will not quit in the middle of our race, but remain committed to completing every vision, project, and ministry entrusted to us. Pray that we may have the mindset of finishers, following Christ our ultimate example, who is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

5. James 1:12 – “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”

Pray for endurance that we may receive strength to go through trials, setbacks, and challenges without losing faith. Pray that the Lord will help us to practice self-control, resilience, and discipline, pressing on toward the prize of His upward call (Philippians 3:14).

6. Philippians 1:6 – “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

Pray for God’s grace that we may continually depend on Him to sustain us until the finish line. Pray that our lives may glorify the Father, and that at the end we may hear Him say: “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23).
