Psalm 33:12 - “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!”

Habakkuk 2:14 - “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”

Tanzania has been known as an “island of peace” in a region marked by instability, hosting over a million refugees fleeing conflict from neighbouring countries and serving as a strategic base for Christian ministry. Despite this stability, the nation recently faced unrest associated with elections and also faces spiritual challenges, as witchcraft and occult practices continue to mix with both Christianity and Islam, causing harm and exploitation. Widespread poverty, underdevelopment, corruption, and rapid urbanization affect education, healthcare, infrastructure, and daily life, making holistic ministry vital. Although many identify as Christian, biblical understanding and discipleship are limited, and the large youth population requires intentional ministry and guidance. Significant unreached groups remain, especially in Zanzibar, coastal and southern regions, and among several ethnic groups and South Asian communities, while over 50 language groups still lack Scripture, making Bible translation and literacy efforts urgent.

1. Pray for Peace, Godly Leadership & Confronting Evil Practices: Thank God for the restoration of peace in Tanzania and praise God for its role as a refuge and missions hub. Pray for the government to boldly confront witchcraft, occultism, and destructive cultural practices, and to promote justice, peace, religious freedom, and national unity.

2. Pray for Holistic Development & Transformation of Society: Pray for effective strategies to reduce poverty and improve education, healthcare, infrastructure, clean water, agriculture, and economic stability. Pray that holistic Christian ministry will continue to bring transformation and integrity in all sectors, especially in the fight against corruption.

3. Pray for Spiritual Growth & Discipleship in the Church: Pray for spiritual maturity among believers—deep discipleship, strong biblical foundation, and Christ-centred living. Pray that Christians will influence society with godly values and that the church will impact social, economic, and political spheres with righteousness.

4. Pray for Youth & Children’s Ministry Impact: Pray for children and youth to encounter Christ and stand firm in purity and faith. Pray for more trained Christian teachers, strong school ministries, and impactful university fellowships. Ask God to raise young leaders who will bring renewal and revival to the nation.

5. Pray for Unreached Peoples & Gospel Penetration: Pray for a breakthrough among the unreached and resistant people groups—especially in Zanzibar, coastal Muslim communities, animist tribes, and South Asian populations. Pray for open doors for the gospel and for the church to engage with wisdom, love, and boldness.

6. Pray for Bible Translation & Literacy Efforts: Pray for acceleration of Bible translation into languages still without Scripture. Pray for more translators, resources, and literacy programs so people can read, understand, and be transformed by the Word of God in their heart language.
