Leadership Principles

Thanksgiving and reflection on the Sunday message

Thanksgiving

Job 38:12 (ESV). Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know its place.

Proverbs 19:21 (ESV). Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

i. Thank God for today and its blessings that we have commanded as His children.

ii. Thank God for today knowing that His purposes in our lives will prevail.

iii. Thank God for the powerful message that was boldly delivered yesterday and the people that gave their lives to Jesus Christ.

Reflection on Sunday message

Message title: Leadership Principles

Scripture: Nehemiah 2:17-18

Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in, how Jerusalem lies in ruins with its gates burned. Come, let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer suffer derision.” 18 And I told them of the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, “Let us rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for the good work.

1. Everyone has innate leadership skills in them. Pray that as Christians we will rise up to take up leadership roles as the situation demands like Nehemiah did. Pray that we will be moved with the burdens happening around us and pray to God for the solutions.

2. Big dreams cannot be implemented by one person alone. Pray for God’s wisdom and help for effective sharing of our visions with others. Pray that we will ably communicate our visions with others for action and resource mobilization.

3. Courage is not absence of fear but ability to act in spite of it. Pray for courage and strength from God so that we are able to act and work on our God given visions despite oppositions and distractions.

4. Pray that as Christians we will learn to celebrate wins and successes, worshiping God who has given us those successes.

5. Pray that as Christ-devoted followers we will learn to baptize all our vision activities in prayer. This is our advantage as God’s bonafide children.
