John 12:44-46 

And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.

Genesis 1:3

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 

1. Jesus came into the world as light. Pray that we will have the understanding of what this light can do in Lilongwe City so that we will be able to represent Christ well. Pray that we will manage to flood this city with light.
2. Pray that we will have confidence to combat darkness, when we understand what light can do. Pray that we will stop looking down on ourselves because this is not about us but about reflecting the light of Christ that is in us.
3. Light brings freedom. Pray for all the people in this city who are bound and need freedom, that God will cause them to encounter this light. Specifically mention those that do not even realise they are bound, that God will be merciful to them.
4. Jesus came as light so that everyone who believes in Him might not remain in darkness; so believing is paramount. Pray that we will be able to clearly elaborate to this city what the Gospel of Christ is all about so that the city believes in Christ.
