Praying for Malawi and unreached people group
a) Praying for Malawi:
Joel 2:24 (ESV) “The threshing floors shall be full of grain; the vats shall overflow with wine and oil”.
1 Corinthians 15:57 (ESV) “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”.
1. Thank God for the harvest of various crops harvested across the country.
2. Pray for protection from exploitation by opportunistic buyers.
3. Pray for divine intervention in the country’s economic situation, believing God for the stabilisation of the economy.
4. As the country prepares for General Elections on September 16 this year, pray that God will raise leaders of integrity who will serve the people with humility and justice.
5. Pray that the upcoming General Elections will be conducted in a free and fair manner. Bind any thought of rigging the election results.
b) Praying for the unreached people group: Kuravan (Hindu traditions) in India
Psalms 146:6 (ESV) “who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever”
Romans 10:14-15 (ESV) “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Kuravan means palmistry. In Tamil Nadu, Kuravan means hill man. They are a Scheduled Caste, giving them a low to medium status. Except for the ones in Kerala, the literacy level remains low. Boys are more likely to get an education than girls. They arrange marriages for their cousins. The Kuravan work as farmers or day laborers. Some of their men make baskets. Others tell fortunes for a fee. Some do tattoos or paint for a living.
1. Pray that God’s wonderous works of creation will draw many from this people group to the Throne of Grace.
2. Pray that God will give the Kuravan dreams and visions leading them to Jesus Christ.
3. Pray that gospel recordings will lead them to salvation. They live scattered throughout the southern half of India, where there are plenty of churches that can reach out to them. The Kuravan speak Malayalam, a language spoken by thousands of Christians in Kerala.
4. Pray for loving workers as they preach the gospel to this people group.
