Jesus says, In the same way ,let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven Matthew 5:16 (ESV)

Key Thought

God has a set of good works prepared/designed for you and me to accomplish today, tomorrow and forever.

Ephesians 2:10 says For we are His workmanship ,created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

God is asking us to use our gifts ,our talents ,our words, our hearts to illuminate hope to the hopeless, and faith to the faithless .We owe it to God to strive for the salvation of others. If we don’t do this, we are behaving in a contradictory manner.

Remember, the goal is not for people to recognize the work you do. The goal is to point people to the goodness and glory of God .God has given your life at this time in history so that you can make him known .He has called us to work, to bring light to communities, to cities.

When Jesus said ‘let your light shine, He knew that his disciples are living in the world that is struggling against physical and spiritual forces.

Brethren, now more than ever, we are called to be lights to this world, particularly now as we are currently dealing with issues of finances, identities, hate, hypocrisy, envy, etc.

But what are these good deeds??

• Anything that will lead other people glorify God.

How do I let my light shine before others?

• By living in such a way that others see Jesus in us, reflecting his character, love and truth in all we do.
• Being people of integrity who others can trust.

Conclusion

We are called to align our purposes in life with the purpose of God. With all the resources at our disposal, it will be of no use if we do not light this city through our character and evangelism.
