Observing Life Markings
Recurrent Thought
Accountability is a gift of keeping ourselves sane. It is many times painful but necessary for our lives.
- In the previous messages have established “Attitudes are mind-sets or mental conditioning that determines our interpretation of and response to our environment.” Attitudes are such a powerful assets or liabilities that determine outcomes of our lives. They dictate your response to the present realities and determines the quality of your future. You are your attitude, and your attitude is you. If you do not control your attitude, it controls you. Attitude creates our worlds and designs our destinies. Today we deal with the attitude of accountability.
- King Solomon of ancient Israel captured this when he wrote that “as a Person thinks so is he” (Pro. 23:7 KJV). John Maxwell candidly stated that attitudes determine the altitude we scale o in our lives pursuits. Attitudes become part of who we are through our personal growth journeys. Your attitude determines how far you progress in life.
- As regards to harvests, they are determined by attitudes that linger in your life. In this Year, 2025 we refer to a harvest as an outcome, a result of prior predetermined efforts. We emphasize Kingdom and Personal Harvest
In this message we want to appreciate the attitude of being accountable. Accountability is the conviction and capacity to assess Your conduct, a task at hand, your progress in your particular activities you are involved and your willingness to report on such. Furthermore, accountability, which is an attitude of being responsible, easily explains motives and reasons for taking certain actions. Accountability is an attitude of submission to authority, to community rules, and guidelines. Thus in life, there are customs, rules, standards, reference points, boundaries, let me call them markings that we observe. These markings or boundaries are so deeply entrenched in our way of life and they interpret what is acceptable and what is frowned upon. They define success and failure. Additionally, God also sets courses or markings that deal with our personal assignments. In reference to this personal life markings Paul stated in Act 20:24 that
“But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
Therefore, accountability is an attitude that continuously observes markings (boundaries) of life. Interestingly, with enhanced sense of accountability, one comes to a place of holding oneself to a standard higher than what is within themselves of within their environment. Accountability is such a powerful attitude. However, the consequences are massive when we do not commit to it
