Praying for World Situations

“He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free.” (Psalm 146:7)

“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” (Ephesians 6:19)

1. 1. Millions of people in Sudan and Gaza face famine and life-threatening food insecurity due to conflict and lack of aid, while Sudan and Afghanistan are also suffering from devastating earthquakes and mudslides. Pray that the Lord will provide food, medical aid, shelter, and safety for those affected, that doors will open for humanitarian assistance, and that peace and restoration will come to these nations.

“He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free.” (Psalm 146:7)

2. Wars and violence in Ukraine, DRC, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Haiti, Mali, and other nations continue to displace millions and destroy lives, while economic hardship and political instability worsen suffering in many regions. Pray for God’s intervention to stop bloodshed, protect civilians, and bring peace and reconciliation. Pray for wisdom for leaders to make just and fair decisions, for stability in governance, and relief for those suffering from poverty and economic challenges.

“He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields with fire.” (Psalm 46:9)

3. Wildfires in Europe and worsening global air pollution threaten lives, ecosystems, and communities. Pray for protection of lives and restoration of affected areas, and that nations will take responsibility as stewards of creation to address climate change and care for the environment.

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” (Psalm 24:1)

4. Many people, including young adults who have grown up abroad, are being deported from some European countries and the USA. Some are deemed ineligible to stay after turning 18, yet they lack family ties, cultural knowledge, or language skills in their countries of origin, leaving them vulnerable and without support. Pray that God will comfort and protect them, open doors of mercy and provision, and raise compassionate people and systems to support them. Pray that in their uncertainty, they may encounter Christ as their true refuge and hope.

“The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but He frustrates the ways of the wicked.” (Psalm 146:9)

5. In the midst of famine, war, disasters, and instability, the call to spread the Gospel remains urgent. Believers around the world face opposition and hardship but also opportunities to witness. Pray for grace and boldness for the church to proclaim the Gospel with clarity, compassion, and courage, that many may come to salvation even in difficult circumstances.

“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” (Ephesians 6:19)
