Praying for Malawi and Praying for People Groups of Côte d’Ivoire

Praying for Malawi

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

— Psalm 50:15 (KJV)

The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them.

— Psalm 145:8-19 NLT

“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the LORD. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”

— Jeremiah 29:12-14 NLT

1. Thank God that He hears and delivers us in times of trouble.

2. Pray that Malawians will rise and call upon the name of the Lord. Pray that we will put all our hope in Him. Pray that a new generation will arise in this nation that will wholeheartedly seek the face of the Lord and seek His will upon Malawi to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

3. Pray that Malawi will enter a season of restoration. Pray that there will be a restoration of fortunes in our nation. Pray that great men and women will arise from Malawi in all spheres of influence.

4. Pray for the newly elected leaders to prioritize the good of the nation. Pray against selfish ambition and corruption.

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

— 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NLT

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

— Luke 10:19 KJV

1. Pray against any strongholds that have kept the people of these people groups from knowing the Lord. Pray that all strongholds will be knocked down in Jesus’ name.

2. Pray that there will be an outpouring of God’s Spirit among the Christians in these people groups. Pray that, though they are currently the minority, there will be a special move of God that will cause them to have boldness to reach their communities with Gospel.

3. Pray that many in these people groups will come to the obedience of Christ.

4. Pray that God’s missionaries in these groups will walk in the authority that God has given them. Pray that they will trample over all the power of the enemy and that nothing will hurt them.
