Praying for Sunday Services
He sent forth His word and healed them; He rescued them from the pit. — Psalm 107:20 (BSB)
For you make him most blessed forever; you make him glad with the joy of your presence.— Psalm 21:6 ESV
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.— Isaiah 55:11 ESV
1. Thank God for the services that we have had in this month of September and how he has graced us with His manifest presence continually. Thank Him for His Word that continues to build us and strengthen us.
2. Pray against a spirit of familiarity among the ICA congregants. Pray that we will value the presence of God and will take all services and gatherings seriously.
3. Pray against the spirit of heaviness (or depression). Pray that God’s people will find joy in His presence.
4. Pray that we will recognise the Word of God as the solution for our lives and for our world. Pray that as we hear the word from the pulpit tomorrow, we will be good soil for the word and that the enemy will not snatch the word from our hearts. Pray that the word will produce in and through us what it talks about.
5. Pray specifically for the children’s church and teens’ church to experience the power of the Lord in special way tomorrow. Pray that as these young ones attend their services, their desire for a deeper relationship with the Lord will increase.
