• Women and children in India face some of the country's most severe hardships, including poverty, abuse, exploitation, neglect, and gender discrimination. Millions of children are orphaned, abandoned, living on the streets, or vulnerable to trafficking and forced labor. Many girls face additional challenges due to a cultural preference for male children, resulting in abandonment, abuse, and limited access to education. Women also experience lower literacy rates, domestic violence, and other forms of exploitation. Pray for effective government and Christian ministry interventions, as well as for societal transformation that values, protects, and upholds the dignity of women and children according to God's love and justice.
• India faces enormous humanitarian challenges due to its large population and widespread poverty. Hundreds of millions of people live in severe deprivation, although economic reforms and poverty-reduction initiatives are helping to improve conditions. Major health challenges include malnutrition among children, poor sanitation, lack of access to clean water, air pollution, and overstretched healthcare services. Millions suffer from preventable diseases, and India continues to carry a significant burden of HIV and tuberculosis. Pray for effective solutions to poverty and health challenges, for strengthened healthcare systems, and for the preservation of quality medical and healthcare services that have historically been supported by Christian institutions and professionals.
• Hinduism is the world's third-largest religion and is deeply intertwined with India's culture, history, and way of life. It encompasses a wide range of beliefs and practices, from philosophical teachings and rituals to popular worship and traditional village practices. Hinduism is often viewed as inclusive and adaptable, incorporating elements from various traditions it encounters. Its influence extends globally through movements and practices such as yoga, meditation, and spiritual teachings, while concepts like karma, dharma, reincarnation, and gurus have become widely recognized in modern culture. Pray that people in India encounter the truth, love, and saving grace of Jesus Christ, and that Christians may share their faith with wisdom, respect, and genuine love. Pray for peaceful relationships and mutual understanding among people of different faith backgrounds.
• India has more unreached individuals than any other nation. Christians in India are very unequally spread the south and northeast have a much higher proportion of Christians than the more populated north and west. Thirteen states in North India are less than 1% Christian. Pray that the Church worldwide might rise to this task.
