Praying for Malawi and People Groups of Nigeria

Praying for Malawi – Psalms 82:3-4; Psalms 33:12,18-22

Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Psalms 82:3-4

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you. Psalms 33:12,18-22

1. Thank God for Malawi and for the peace He has preserved in the nation, even amidst economic hardship and many pressures. Pray that Malawians will not take this peace for granted, but will continue to seek God, love one another, and work together for the good of the nation.

2. Pray for leaders at all levels, that God will give them wisdom, integrity, compassion and a development-oriented mindset. Ask that they will make decisions that protect the vulnerable, support the less privileged, and advance the Malawi 2063 vision for national transformation.

3. Pray against wastage, greed, dishonest gains, corruption, vandalism, and lack of care for public infrastructure and national resources. Ask God to raise citizens with integrity, patriotism, responsibility and love for the country. Pray that Malawian citizens operate and invest with generations in mind

4. Pray for increased investment in production, manufacturing, value addition, agriculture, mining, tourism, education, technical training and higher education. Ask God to open doors for economic growth, job creation, skills development and generation of much-needed foreign exchange and wealth.

5. Pray for Malawians caught up in xenophobic attacks and difficult conditions in South Africa. Ask God to protect them, comfort their families, provide safe means for those who need to return home, and give both Malawi and South African authorities wisdom, compassion and coordination in handling the situation.

Praying for People Groups of Nigeria – Luke 10:2

Then he said to them, ‘The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the labourers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out labourers into his harvest.’” Luke 10:2

1. Pray for revival and strengthening of the Church among the Boga, Bokyi, Bu, British and other communities where there is already Christian witness. Ask God to cleanse, empower and send believers out with love, boldness and truth to reach those who are still lost.

2. Pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit among the Bokabaru, Boko, Bole, Borghom, Bozo Jenaama, Buduma and other least-reached groups. Ask God to bring conviction of sin, hunger for truth, and openness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

3. Pray that God will reveal Christ to these people groups through His Word, faithful witnesses, biblical dreams and visions, healing, deliverance and other signs that point clearly to Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

4. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send more workers to these communities, and that many families and communities will turn to Christ. Ask God to raise church planting movements, strong local leaders, and mature disciples who will remain rooted in Scripture and grow in Christ.
