The Impact of the People Around Us, and the Lord Who Stands with Us
Thanksgiving and reflection on the Sunday message
Thanksgiving
1. Thank God who always stands with us. Although human support may disappear, His divine presence never departs. Matthew 28:20 -----And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
2. Thank God because He gives us strength inside our weakness.
Phillipians 4:13 - I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Isaiah 40:31 - but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
3. Thank God because He alone secures our future 2 Tim 4 vs 18 - The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Reflection on Sunday message and prayer points
Scripture: 2 Timothy 4:9-22
1. Pray against spiritual drift from the faith in Jesus Christ. Pray that we will not desert God for worldly pleasures. 2 Tim 4:10 - For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica.
2. Pray that we will be faithful followers of Jesus Christ wherever God sends us on assignment. Pray that we will respond positively and be impactful to our divine assignments. 2 Tim 4:10 and 12 - Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. 12 Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.
3. Pray that God will bring our way faithful friends who will not abandon us along the way in both Christian-walk of faith and our day to day living. Pray that God will give us grace to have friends like Luke and that we too will be a Luke to others. 2 Tim 4:11 - Luke alone is with me. Heaven notices faithfulness, Halleluiah.
4. Pray that as Christ followers, we will be intentional to recognize and celebrate others who have impacted our life journey regardless how small that help may look in our sight knowing that no believer is insignificant. 2 Tim 4:19-21 - 19 Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus. 20 Erastus remained at Corinth, and I left Trophimus, who was ill, at Miletus. 21 Eubulus sends greetings to you, as do Pudens and Linus and Claudia and all the brothers.
5. Pray that negative circumstances in our lives will not push us away from God but we will remember that our Lord stands with us
2 Tim 4:17 - But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth
