Praying for Malawi 

2 Cor 12:9 (ESV) - But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

1 Tim 2:1-2 (ESV) - First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

1. Thank God for the continued peace Malawi continues to enjoy both within and with its neighbouring countries.

2. Pray that God’s power should be made perfect in Malawi’s weaknesses like economy, public health services, etc.

3. Malawi celebrated its 62nd independence on 6th July 2026. Pray that this year’s celebrations provide an opportunity for all Malawians, and more especially those in authority, to reflect on how best to advance the development agenda for the nation.

4. Pray for the leadership of the nation from all the three arms of Government – Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. Pray that each level will be good stewards of the powers trusted to them. Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

Praying for People Groups of Nigeria

Isaiah 55:6 (ESV) - Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;

Colossians 4:3-4 (ESV) - At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.

Acts 2:21 (ESV) - And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

Statistics

1. Thank God for the spread of the gospel in most parts of today’s prayer people groups. Thank God for the people that surrendered lives to Jesus to be their personal Lord and saviour.

2. Pray that the seed that has been planted in most of the communities will be watered so that it grows, reach and be impactful to many people.

3. Pray for open doors of opportunities to preach the gospel in the community of Idoma where ethnic religions are still being practiced. 

4. Pray that more people in Idoma will open their hearts to receive the grace of salvation found in Jesus Christ.
