Praying for World Situations
Habakkuk 3:2 “O Lord, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O Lord, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
Psalm 10:17–18 O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.
1 Timothy 2:1–2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
1. Spain and France are currently facing a severe wildfire crisis, while Venezuela continues to recover from the devastating earthquake of June 24, 2026. Ask God to protect lives, strengthen emergency and rescue workers, comfort those who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods, and restore affected communities. Pray also for advances in disaster monitoring, early-warning systems, preparedness and timely evacuation to reduce the loss of life and property.
2. Pray for an end to conflicts in Iran, Ukraine and Russia, Lebanon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan and other nations. Ask God to give world leaders humility and wisdom to advance peace and the welfare of their people rather than power and dominance. Pray that citizens, particularly Gen Z, will courageously and peacefully demand accountability when leaders act wrongly, while remaining within the rule of law and seeking the greater good without creating disorder or abuse.
3. Pray against crimes committed against humanity, including the killing, abuse, oppression and displacement of innocent people. Ask God to expose evil, protect victims and witnesses, and cause those responsible to repent and be brought to justice through lawful and impartial processes.
4. Pray that God will hear and answer those suffering from oppression, loss of loved ones, displacement, hunger and economic hardship. Ask Him to comfort the grieving, heal the wounded, provide for struggling families and send compassionate help to those in need.
5. Pray that the Church will remain courageous, compassionate and united amid global turmoil. Ask the Holy Spirit to empower believers, missionaries and evangelists to preach the good news, demonstrate Christ’s love and work for peace until the gospel is heard in every corner of the earth.
