Praying for Malawi and Africa People Groups
Praying for Malawi –
Lamentations 3:22–23: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Psalm 121:7–8 The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
1. Thank God for the peace, life, protection and daily sustenance Malawi continues to enjoy. Pray that faith, courage and hope will rise among citizens, replacing fear, despair and helplessness.
2. Pray for earnest leadership at every level and in every sector, founded on the fear of the Lord, integrity and genuine concern for the welfare of the people. Ask God to remove selfishness, corruption and abuse of authority, and raise leaders who serve faithfully and make wise decisions for the nation.
3. Pray that the Church will take its rightful position in inspiring and influencing transformed hearts, and in nurturing faithful stewards, responsible leaders and patriotic citizens. Pray for a national mindset marked by willingness to work, integrity, responsibility and good stewardship, and for Malawi to embrace Malawi 2063 and its ten-year implementation strategies through practical and sustained action.
4. Pray that God will close every corrupt and porous pathway through which Malawi loses its wealth and opportunities. Praying for the Health and Education sectors in a special way. Ask God to cleanse the health and education sectors of crooked and wicked practices, strengthen accountability and enable these institutions to provide accessible, honest and high-quality services to all people.

Pray for revival and the strengthening of the Church among the Okrika, Olulumo-Ikom, Oron, Orri, Oloma, Oruma and Okodia communities, where there is already a significant Christian witness. Ask God to purify, empower and mobilise believers to live faithfully, make disciples and reach those who are still without Christ.
2. Pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit among the Okpamheri, Okpe of NW Edoid, Okpe of SW Edoid, Nzanyi and Okpe-Idesa communities, where ethnic religions remain predominant. Ask God to bring conviction of sin, hunger for truth and openness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
3. Pray that God will reveal Christ clearly to all these people groups through His Word, faithful witnesses, dreams and visions, healing, deliverance and other works of grace that point people to Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
4. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send more workers to these communities and raise strong local leaders, mature disciples and multiplying churches. Ask God to turn families and whole communities to Christ and establish them firmly in Scripture and faithful Christian fellowship.
