Praying to be witnesses of Christ Jesus
- The word of God promises us that we will receive by the power of the Holy Spirit and bear witness. Pray for a personal receptive spirit to this power. Pray that the Holy Spirit will indeed use us as vessels to bear witness.
- Pray also that as Christians we do not bear a false witness or testimony against our neighbor. Pray for the attributes of integrity and honesty as we give an account of who Jesus Christ is and the work He has done for mankind.
- Our assignment to witness may come with instructions from the Lord that may require a display of self-control and discipline. Pray for these gifts in our lives. Pray against any selfish intent and self-gratification at the expense of our assignment.
- In the voice that came down from heaven the disciples were instructed to listen to Jesus Christ. As witnesses of Christ, we ought to be led by Christ Himself. Pray that Jesus be the center of our lives as we go out.
