DAY 17: PRAYER & FASTING- SPIRIT EMPOWERED HARVESTERS
Acts 1:8
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses.”
Acts 8:5-8
5 Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. 6 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7 For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was great joy in that city.
Acts 8:26-30
26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian[a] eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet. 29 The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.” 30 Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.
Matthew 10:6-8
6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a] drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
1. Pray that believers at ICA who have not yet received the power of the Holy Spirit will be empowered to become witnesses for Christ, so that everyone at ICA will contribute to the great harvest of souls.
2. Pray that the Spirit of God will lead us to places where people are ready to pay close attention to the word of God, where people will respect the signs and wonders we perform. Pray that everywhere we go with the word of God, there will be great joy.
3. Pray that we will be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit so that we will exactly go where He sends us to go and at the right time. We shall not be people who procrastinate.
4. Pray that God will send us to people of influence who are earnestly seeking Him and that we will have the courage and wisdom to reach out to them with appropriate solutions.
5. Pray that we will not wait for the crowd, to go out witnessing, but we will have the confidence to engage in any kind of missions, alone. Great harvests require confidence. Pray that we will not be afraid engaging in missions we have never engaged in before.
6. God will always give clear instructions about where to go, what to say, what to do and how to do it. Pray that as we go out God will provide details regarding the assignments He wants us to carry out. Pray that the instructions will be very clear.
