DAY 20: PRAYER & FASTING- COMPASSIONATE HARVESTERS

Matthew 9:36

“When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

Luke 15:44

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?”

1 Peter 5:8

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Exodus 32:9-11

9 “I have seen these people,” the LORD said to Moses, “and they are a stiff- necked people. 10 Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.” 11 But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God. “LORD,” he said, “why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?

1. Pray that the Lord will fill our hearts with genuine love and compassion for the lost. Pray that God will help us to see them through His eyes so we are moved to action.

2. Compassionate harvesters value individual people. Pray that we will take interest in people and we will reach out to them in accordance with their needs. Pray that God will help you to love those that are hard to love.

3. Compassionate harvesters do not give up on the lost. Pray that we will not give up on people who have deliberately driven themselves to lost-ness. Like the prodigal father we shall develop big hearts that can accommodate any kind of lost-ness.

4. Pray that we will be prepared to spend our resources and time prioritizing the lost over what we currently consider important. Pray that this will be the conviction of everyone at ICA.

5. Sometimes we may be too busy to notice those getting lost. Pray that we will be alert and of sober mind at all times so that we do not allow our enemy the devil to devour those within our jurisdiction.

6. Compassionate harvesters are great intercessors. Pray that we shall always be moved to intercede for people, even those that everyone else is giving up on.
