Praying for Malawi

Praying for Malawi

Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”Matthew 20:26-28 NIV

For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.Proverbs 11:14 NIV

You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.Deuteronomy 8:18 ESV

1. Pray that the people who God has called into various leadership positions in the country will understand the responsibility that has been placed on them and strive to fulfil His purpose in those roles. Pray that they will have the courage to stand for what is right.

2. Pray against any strongholds in Malawi that have held people from grasping the full reality of the gospel. Pray against the spirit of familiarity with the things of God.

3. Pray for the body of Christ to be reignited to have a renewed passion for God.

4. Pray for entrepreneurs in Malawi to be more courageous to pursue their dreams. Pray for access to resources, mentorship and any help that they will require in pursuit of those dreams.

Praying for Unreached People Groups

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.2 Chronicles 7:14

1. In the above people groups in Cameroon, deep divisions of language, politics and faith are all potential flashpoints of tension and violence. Cameroon is divided between French and English regions, between Christian, Muslim and traditional religions, between government cronies and increasingly frustrated opposition. Pray for God to raise up reconcilers and peacemakers in this divided land.

2. Pray for God’s servants working in this land to have the wisdom and grace to navigate these divisions and tensions even as they try to spread the gospel.

3. Pray that the already existing Christians in Cameroon will have a renewed commitment to the Great Commission and have passion for souls. May we see a great harvest of souls in Cameroon!

4. Despite a good number of these people groups being predominantly Christian, the spiritual poverty of the churches is the country's greatest tragedy. Nominal Christianity is a bigger problem in Cameroon than in most of Africa. Pray for deep repentance, lasting deliverance and true revival, and pray for a restoration of Bible reading, preaching and holiness among Christians.
