Praying for Malawi and People Groups of Democratic Republic of Congo
a) Praying for Malawi:
Proverbs 11:14 (ESV) “Where there is no guidance, people fall, but in an abundance of counsellors there is safety”.
1. Thanksgiving: Thank God for the peace that the Malawi nation enjoys both internally and with its neighbours.
2. Praying for the health system: Pray that the country’s health system will not be overwhelmed by disease outbreaks. Pray for the availability of essential drugs in all hospitals. Pray for the strength of the healthcare workers.
3. Praying for the current Government: Pray for good stewardship of the country’s budget, even as the country gears up for the upcoming general elections.
4. Praying for MEC: Pray for the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) to discharge its duties and mandate without any favouritism.
5. Praying for peaceful political campaigns. Pray that there will be no bloodshed and quarrels among members of different political parties during campaign time, on voting day, and even after the voting.
b) Praying for the unreached people group: Democratic Republic of Congo
Colossians 1:13-14 (ESV) “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins”.
1. Thank God for the spread of Christianity in ten out of the eleven People Groups.
2. Pray for the continued preaching of the Gospel in all eleven People Groups so that many souls are delivered from the darkness domain and transferred into God’s kingdom.
3. Pray for many doors of opportunity to open in Teke, Northern, so that the gospel can be preached in this area.
4. Pray for God’s protection and provision for the preachers among these People Groups.
