Praying for North Korea (Asia)
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38
North Korea remains one of the most repressive nations in the world, marked by extreme control, a personality cult around its leaders, and widespread suffering. The people are isolated from the outside world, and millions have died due to famine and state neglect. Although foreign NGOs are allowed in under strict supervision, their capacity to help is limited. Despite this, their presence and the quiet faith of Christians among them offer hope. Reunification with South Korea remains a deep longing for many, but would require profound healing, external support, and unity within the Church.
1. Thank God for His sustaining grace over the people of North Korea and for every opportunity, however small, for truth and love to reach them through humanitarian workers and believers.
2. Pray that God’s compassion will flow to the hungry and destitute, that food and aid will reach those in need, and that mercy will prevail over every system of injustice.
3. Pray for believers working quietly within North Korea, that they may walk in wisdom, boldness, and patience, letting their lives shine with love and integrity even under pressure.
4. Pray that the Spirit of the Lord will bring transformation to the nation, breaking the yoke of oppression, opening blind eyes, and softening hearts to truth and freedom.
5. Pray for healing and unity in the Korean Peninsula, that the Church in the South will walk in humility and oneness, and that any future reunification will be led by righteousness, peace, and justice.
