Confessions of Our Victory
Recurrent Thought
Jesus' blood still "speaks" on our behalf in heaven—it cries out mercy, not vengeance. It continually sustains our victories.
The New Testament writings boldly reveals that the life and practice of a Christ-devoted follower is dependent on the BLOOD of Jesus Christ. When the emphasis of Blood of Jesus is made, in essence, it is a representation of the finished work of Jesus through His Death, Burial and Resurrection. The transformative power and present effectiveness is stated and compared with role of animal sacrifices.
Furthermore, the Blood of Jesus Christ is more powerful than any and effectively speaks better things than that of Abel. The following are some ways the Blood of Jesus is more excellent in its effect
- The Blood of Jesus Speaks of a better Covenant. His Blood was offered in a Better Covenant (Heb.8:6-10,13; 9:1, 4)
- The Blood of Jesus Speaks of clearer access to the throne room of God (Heb. 4:16; 9:1-5, 11, 24 &.8:6)
- The Blood of Jesus Christ speaks of purified consciousness from dead works that we may worship him (9:14).
- The Blood of Jesus speaks of access to all eternal inheritance of the New Covenant (9:15-18).
- The Blood of Jesus proclaims Forgiveness (remission) of Sins (9:22).
- The Blood of Jesus speaks of a better Sacrifice and better High Priest (9:23, 25-26).
- The Blood of Jesus Speaks Victory against Satan and all demonic Powers
- The Blood of Jesus Speaks of a better and richer community
In today’s message we deal with the aspects of the Blood that continue to speak better things in our daily walk. We have set these truths as Daily Confessions of Faith. In our first part of the series we submitted the reality that part of the Christ-like formation that happens in the life of a Christ-devoted follower is understanding the present day power of the Blood of Jesus in their life.
Believers must understand and appropriate the incomparable power of the blood of Jesus Christ in their lives. In dying, Jesus through His blood provided redemption to every wayward child of God. However, the same blood has the power to keep one’s conscience pure, daily. We must understand the depth, sufficiency, and transforming power of Christ's blood in the redemption and sanctification of human beings.
Here are the five confessions based on the Victories brought by the Blood of Jesus
- The Redeeming Power of the Blood of Jesus
- Eph 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
- When Jesus died on the Cross of Calvary, He freed us from the dominion of Sin and Satan.
- Our imprisonment was under the power of sin and enforced by the satanic power. However, ransom was never paid to the devil, but to God who was ultimately wronged. That is why Jesus went and offered his blood in the heavenly tabernacle
- By the blood we escape the power of sin and the devil;
- In Revelation 12:11, the Bible states, “They overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”
- The Blood of Jesus is a spiritual weapon. It disarms the enemy and silences accusations. It’s our ground of victory.
- The elements of the Passover give us victory when used correctly: we apply the Blood of Jesus over every situation, we declare what the Blood has done for us and keep our lives surrendered before God and available for His service.
- This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” Luke 22:20
- He is the mediator of a new covenant... since a death has occurred that redeems...” Hebrews 9:15
- Jesus’ blood inaugurated the New Covenant—a better, everlasting covenant between God and His people, based on grace and relationship, not law and ritual.
- Confession #1:
- Through the Blood of Jesus, I am redeemed from the hand of the enemy. Every legal right of Satan over my life is cancelled. I am free!
- Eph 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
- The Forgiving Power of the Blood of Jesus
- Eph. 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
- One of the enemy’s strategies is to try to make us believe that some of our sins have not yet been forgiven; this allows him to take control. HOWEVER, when we confess with full assurance that ALL our sins are ALREADY forgiven by the Blood of Jesus, we experience complete victory!
- “Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord’ and You forgave the guilt of my sin” (Psalm 32:5).
- “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1John 1:9).
- Confession #2:
- Through the Blood of Jesus all my sins are forgiven and I am declared a righteous child of God
- Eph. 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
- The Cleansing Power of the Blood of Jesus Christ (1 John 1:7)
- “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the Blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
- The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” — 1 John 1:7
- “How much more will the blood of Christ... purify our conscience...” Hebrews 9:14
- The blood doesn't just forgive—it cleanses. It purifies our hearts, consciences, and lives, enabling us to walk in holiness and intimacy with God.
- There are two aspects necessary in order for the Blood of Jesus to regularly cleanse us: 1) we must walk in the light and 2) we must live in fellowship with other believers.
- Walking in the light means living in obedience to what God reveals through His Word. “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path” (Psalm 119:105).
- Living in fellowship and unity with other believers is a result of the grace of God operating in lives that are yielded to the Holy Spirit and sensitive to others.
- “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows His blessing, even life forevermore” (Psalm 133:1-3).
- When we walk in the light and have fellowship with other believers, the Blood of Jesus continues the process of purification and sanctification, which prevents the stain of sin from touching our hearts.
- Confession #3
- Through the Blood of Jesus all of my Sins are cleansed. I stand clean, and purified before God.
- “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the Blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
- The Blood Justifies
- Romans 5:9-10.
- Since we have now been justified by His Blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him! For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!”
- 2 Corinthians 5:21
- “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God
- There was a great exchange made: God took His Son Jesus, who had never sinned and was not guilty of anything, and gave Him up to receive the punishment we deserved!
- Now we have received the righteousness of God through Him! Jesus took all of the bad that we were and in exchange, gave us all the good that He is.
- God no longer sees us in our sinful nature, but He sees us the same way He sees His Son: without stain and without sin.
- When we confess what the Blood did for us, we rebuke the accusing spirit of guilt and condemnation and stand in our place of victory!
- I am declared righteous by the blood of Jesus. I have peace with God, and I will not come under condemnation or judgment
- Confession #4
- Through the Blood of Jesus, I have been justified, and God sees me as if I had never sinned
- The Blood that Sets Us Apart
- Hebrews 13:12.
- “And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through His Own Blood”
- 1 Corinthians 6:20
- “You were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body” .
- When the judgment of God fell upon Egypt, the price was the blood of the firstborn of every family in that nation, and because the Israelites also lived in Egypt, that judgment was also upon them. However, God used the blood of innocent lambs as a substitute payment and the Israelites were protected.
- This is a prototype of what would happen centuries later to Jesus, the Lamb of God, who offered His life for our redemption.
- We were bought with the Blood of Jesus; therefore, we do not belong to ourselves. Jesus set us apart for Him
- The word “holy” means, to be separated or set apart for God.
- Confession # 5
- Through the Blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, set apart from sin and set apart for God!”
- Conclusion
- Through the Blood of Jesus, I am redeemed, forgiven, cleansed, justified and set apart for God! Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and He lives inside of us. God chose us so we could be His holy dwelling place. He desires to be in our thoughts, our emotions, our desires, our decisions, our words, and in everything we are. We are His Temple, and He is the Lord of our lives. Let Him live in holiness through you
