Process
Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest (ESV)
You have a saying, 'Four more months and then the harvest.' But I tell you, take a good look at the fields; the crops are now ripe and ready to be harvested! (GNB) John 4:35
Mathew 9:36-38,John 4:35-37,Mark 4:26-29, Gen. 8:22
Recurrent Thoughts
- To reap souls for God's Kingdom, the church must cultivate (process) a spiritual environment that is conducive to conviction, conversion, and commitment.
- To get to the fulfillment of your dreams, you must recognize and perform the right processes to set the right conditions for growth and ripening
Harvests—visions and dreams—are outcomes of preplanned prior efforts. All things, harvests are outcomes, or results that emerge from planned processes. They are consequences of planning. Harvests (or dreams) are produced by processes that in themselves are not celebrated but are significant to their outcomes. Processes are usually structured and sequenced actions designed to produce result (Harvest). Dreams do not exist in the absence of process. Every dream is an outcome of processing.
The challenge is that process rarely produces emotional excitement; they are not goals in themselves. For you to gain from processes, you have to repeat them many times. You gain by consistency and repetition. Process is the essence of effort expended, time spent, perspiration, waiting time, pushing, the burning of the midnight oil and many other enduring tasks that are critical to producing dreams.
Every harvest (dream, vision) follows specific processes entrenched in its environment. The environment speaks of the setting or the conditions that makes the crop (dream) sprout, grow to the point it is ready for harvest. In the natural, the processes of harvesting include cutting, threshing, hauling etc. Jesus challenged the disciples to change their perspective on the processes of harvesting souls for the Kingdom. While they thought the harvest was far off, He revealed that the spiritual field was already ready—ripe—for the harvest of souls. But for there to be a harvest, there must engage in specific processes within the that ensures that we harvest effectively
Here are three essential processes necessary to set the environment for the Harvest of Souls (Dreams)
- Anchored (Spiritual) Awareness
- A soul-harvesting church must have spiritual sensitivity to recognize when and where the harvest is ready.
- Being aware of the environment is a spiritual activity we do regularly
- “Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields…” (John 4:35)
- Jesus was speaking in Samaria—among a people considered spiritually distant. Yet He reveals that the harvest was there. The disciples almost missed it because of prejudice and lack of spiritual vision.
- Harvests don’t wait for your readiness; they respond to your awareness.”
- A farmer who misses the harvest window loses both the crop and the investment. Likewise, a distracted church or Super12 Cell misses’ divine opportunities.
- We must train our spiritual eyes to see open doors—be it in schools, workplaces, streets, or homes.
- We must train our sense of perception for the dreams God is growing in us.
- To have this sense of perception, we must walk in step with the Spirit (Gal. 5::5)
- Consistent and Regular Prayer
- No harvest happens without the rain—so no spiritual harvest comes without prayer.
- “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:38)
- Jesus connects the spiritual harvest with prayer—not just for the lost, but for labourers. Prayer changes the environment—it breaks spiritual hardness, brings conviction, and releases resources.
- Intercessions are never a onetime activity, but done regularly and continuously
- “Before the seed sprouts, the sky must open.”
- Elijah prayed until the heavens opened (1 Kings 18:42–45). Revival began not with words, but with tears and knees.
- We must commit to praying for our community, our neighbors, our coworkers. Your intercession plows the heart for the gospel seed.
- Soak Your Dreams in prayer. Don’t tire to pray about the visions you have nursed for years.
- You are the worker for your dreams; Pray for the Lord of Harvest to prepare you for your dreams
- Rein in our Words
- Jesus reminded the disciples what was regularly spoken about the harvest, but he also told them what needed to be said about the harvest.
- Jesus changed the words about the harvests. He changed the harvest from being in the future to being in the present.
- Jesus wants us constantly declare the present-tense-harvest. But the reality is that some seed takes a long time to harvest
- People will not be attracted where they are not spoken of positively and properly
- What do you speak about your harvest: You are not ready, it is not in season.
- What do You, family, community, church, society say about its dreams
- Dreams are never captured by procrastination but by present certainty
- Speak Your Harvest into becoming; Start speaking about your dreams positively
Conclusion
As the fields for the Harvest are ready we must have:
- Eyes to see — awareness.
- Knees to bend — intercession.
- Mouth to Speak — certainty (Faith)
God is not asking if you can reap—He's asking if you're willing to prepare and work for the Harvest
