The horrific Hamas attacks of 7 October 2023 not only escalated murderous violence in this region, but provoked deep division on the Israel-Palestine situation globally – not least among Christians.

1. Pray for justice and Godly leadership: That God’s justice will prevail in the Holy Land, and that He will raise righteous leaders who care for their people.

“For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.” (Psalm 37:28, KJV)

2. Pray for the relief and well-being of the suffering; That displaced and afflicted people, especially women and children, may experience God’s provision and kindness.

 “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.” (Psalm 113:7–8, KJV)

3. Pray for peace and encounter with the Prince of Peace; That Israelis and Palestinians will find true reconciliation and peace in Jesus Christ.

“For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.” (Ephesians 2:14, KJV)

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.” (Psalm 122:6, KJV)

4. Pray for lasting reconciliation beyond human efforts; That lasting peace will be established according to God’s eternal plan and ministry of reconciliation.

“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:18, KJV)
