Recurrent Thought

Every Harvest Field has distinct authority demands, which workers do well to follow

Seedtime and Harvest is an activity and process with clear regulation.  There is order embedded which demands strict observation. Things have to be done in a certain way for one to enjoy the harvest. Despite this regularity of the system and process, there is influence outside and beyond it.  When Jesus asked the apostles to pray to the Lord of Harvest, it was an admission that the process of Seedtime and Harvest is guided and by this Lord. It is evident that the system of Seedtime and Harvest is not purely a self-sustaining and all-powerful process by itself. The Lord of the Harvest is above this system and determines its effect. Therefore, to get the best of the system, one has to have an understanding of the workings of this Lord of the Harvest.

In this series we address two forms of Harvests: Personal Harvest and Kingdom Harvest; therefore, we simultaneously address both topics.  This message in particular deals with the Culture Harvests that recognizes the Owner of the Harvests.

Notice the following Five Truths about the Lord of the Harvest

  1. He is the Owner of the Harvest
    • The Lord means the one in charge; the “Master of the yield” or “Chief of the harvest”.
    • God Himself is the Commander-in-chief of the harvest.
    • This Lord of the Harvest is God, the creator of the Universe.
    • Jesus recognizes him as God to whom people can direct their prayers.
    • Good culture of harvesting is to understand the owner and work following his demands.
    • Our understanding of Seedtime and Harvest must include the knowledge that the Lord of the Harvest influences the process. He superintends the whole process of Seedtime and Harvest.
  2. He Provides the Seed for the Harvest (2 Cor 9:6-10)
    • He is the one who gives you the seeds for Seedtime.
    • The Lord of the Harvests makes a storeroom of Seeds for You.
    • The owner of the field provides the seed you can work with.
    • Part of the process of planting Seeds is to recognize the role of the Lord of the Harvest.
    • The Lord entrusts resources in Your hands so that they are sowed for the Kingdom of God.
    • The Lord of the Harvest gives Seed for Sowing and Bread for eating, recognize the difference.
  3. He determines Times and Seasons (Jer 5:24Amos 4:7).
    • Nature gives us distinct seasons for planting and harvesting.
    • He superintendents the Seed Time and Harvest.
    • He determines when it is due time for harvesting (Gal 6).
    • He does not just control times and seasons, but He created them (Gen 8:22).
  4. He determines the Increase of the Harvest 1 Cor 3:6-7
    • Your effort as a worker is only significant in relation to the Growth of the Seed.
    • You don’t play all the roles in the Seedtime & Harvest Cycle. You are not God.
    • The role of the Lord of Harvest is to ensure the growth of the Seed. Thus, if the Seed is not growing all your investments are useless.
    • The Lord of the Harvest determines the growth and increase of the Seed.
    • The Growth of the Seed is forte of the Lord of the Harvest. Only him can guarantee.
    • Growth cannot happen without the connection to the Lord of the harvest (John 15:5).
    • The Lord of the Harvest determines the Success of the Harvest (Psalm 107:37–38).
  5. He Sends the Workers for the Harvest
    • The key element is that by the provision of the Lord the Great Harvest is only secured by lots of workers.
    • It is a fact that automated machine farming is an innovation that increases harvest with fewer people. However, when it comes to Personal and Kingdom Harvest increased participation of others increases harvest.
    • Automated evangelism cannot replace human harvesters. There is always the role of human beings in the harvest of Souls.
    • The Lord of the Harvest provides you with the advantage of Favor where he sends people to support You in your journey.
