1 Corinthians 3:9, Matthew 9:36-37.

Key Thought:

• To be a laborer together with God means that your heart is drawn out in strong desire for the salvation of the sinful souls.
  • Laborers in the Kingdom of God are just ordinary people who are growing in the intimacy with Jesus and who are working in the harvest as they win souls and disciple believers.2 Corinthians 5:18 “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. “This work is on us now church and we have been called to be part of the game-Laborers.
  • God’s calling to each one of us is simple. He wants all to love Him and love others and live every single day as a Kingdom laborer, right where we are.
  • In Matthew 9:36, Jesus saw a people that were tired and scattered, like sheep with no shepherd.ESV translation says, When He saw the crowds, he had compassion for them because they harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

1. Harassed
   • Jesus did not just see people as one massive human unit.
   • He saw and understood each individual person who locked eyes with Him.
   • He concluded that these people were afflicted,troubled,grieved,bothered, annoyed etc
2. Helpless 
   • Jesus saw that the people were thrown down ,rejected ,thrown away.
   • These people were ignored by those that claimed to be religious. They were cast off.
   • Jesus was profoundly moved when he looked into their faces.
   • Can we put on Jesus’s eyes so we can see with a discerning spirit?

THEN HE LOOKED AT THE DISCIPLES

The harvest is plentiful but there is a problem. The problem that the laborers are few.

• Matthew 12:30 says, He who is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. Yes, whoever does not help Him in His mission to gather the lost souls into His kingdom is guilty of scattering them.Shame on me if I do not seize an opportunity to share the good news to the lost.
• Proverbs 10:5 .He who gathers in summer is a son who acts wisely, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who acts shamefully.It’s either you act wisely by harvesting or act shamefully by sleeping on your job.
• So brothers and Sisters,one of the reasons why the laborers are few is complacency.Just like the church at Ephesus,we need to return to our first love.We need revival in our hearts.

PRAYER

1. Pray that we have the eyes of Jesus to see and not ignore people that are harassed and helpless.
2. Lord,help and equip me so that I am able to win souls and disciple believers.
